Some of us go about our day.
Others go about doing good. Take a look at this.
This brought tears to my eyes. There is good in this world and we should celebrate that. Oh yeah, on Monday, I saw a kid, he must have been fresh out of prison or jail, sitting at the Transit Center as I was on my way to my Neurologist. He looked scared, and lost. He had on those horrible blue shoes with the plastic sides, that’s how I know he was just released. An older homeless man, with this huge fluffy rolled up blanket, whom I’ve seen before, and knows how to get around Tampa and is everywhere it seems, walked up and said, “here, kid, you look like you could use this blanket.” The kid’s eyes lit up. He thanked the man; they shook hands. The man got on my bus. The older man is one of our “Veteran” homeless guys (there are quite a few who, like Jack Reacher, prefer the streets and get a check) here in Tampa. The’re everywhere, doing good.
That’s a really moving story, Viola. For all the bad news we see in the news, there IS so much good in the world, and it doesn’t get reported nearly enough.
